Community Safety Partnership away day and workshop

The next Community Safety Partnership away day is being held on the 22nd September 2008. Invitations have been sent out to strategic leaders from across the Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) - the body that sets the priorities for all local services. The theme for the workshop will be developing new partnership arrangements to ensure we diliver on the priorities laid out for the partnership by the LSP in the new Local Area Agreement*.

The LSP has decided that the number of partnerships in the borough should be reduced to just 4. The Community Safety Partnership will become part of the new Building Stronger communities Partnership responsible for the crime and cleaner, greener agendas. Those attending the workshop will be deciding how the new partnership will work.

* The Local Area Agreement is an agreement drawn up by Local Authorities with central government outlining the targets and responsibilities local services will work towards over the next 3 years. Details of the full list of priorities chosen for the Wigan Borough LAA 2008-2011 will be posted in our 'What we do' section on the 'Our targets page' following the workshop.
