The inspiration for the leaflet came from the Wigan South Township group (pictured above). Consultation with residents in the Worsley Mesnes ward as part of the PACT (Partners and Communities Together) process found that there was a great deal of concern about drugs and drug dealing in the area. The group decided that a leaflet was needed to help advise residents about how to get help for a drug problem and how to spots the signs of drug dealing.
With the Rat on a rat campaign launch and Tackling drugs week coming up we decided to combine the to initiatives.
The Rat on a rat leaflet includes:
- contact details for the services available to anyone who wants help with their, or their loved ones, drug or alcohol problem,
- details of the services available,
- how to spot signs of drug dealing,
- what information you need to provide,
- how to report drug litter and get it cleaned up.
