Deliberate fires have a huge impact on the ability of the Fire & Rescue Service to be available to attend more serious incidents and to undertake vital training and community engagement activities.
Firestoppers is a free and confidential telephone number on which members of the public within Wigan Borough can give information relating to persons who are starting deliberate fires or making hoax calls. Callers can be assured that their information will be dealt with in confidence and callers can remain anonymous if they wish. The line is available 24 hours per day. Your fire fighters are always there to help you and the Firestoppers freephone number gives you the chance to help your fire fighters. Please note that the Firestoppers number is not an emergency number and if you wish to report a fire you should use the 999 emergency number.
